Madame Bernard - hand-made knitwear (SRB). Back in the 1930s Mme Bernard is recorded as trading from No 26 East Street where she employed a team of young women to hand-knit woollen jumpers to her own design. We are not certain whether she is continues trading at No 12 or just lives here. Exact dates not known either.

1953
Neal - Newsagent Dec 53 and 1954 (SRB). Neal's main shop is across the road at No 9 East Street

John Chapman - Toy shop. The Chapmans buy these premises and No 9 from Mr Neal.
